biography

I was born in Athens in 1950. I anticipated my district with open spaces and playgrounds for gaming, streets without cars, homes with courtyards and view to the Acropolis.

In 1962 I achieve with examinations in the Varvakeio experimental high school. At the same time I deal with painting and photograph, I read a lot of literature and watch cinema, theatre and exhibitions on a daily basis. In thirteen I make my first architectural drawing, for our new house. It gets lost somewhere during the relocation. From that age I had decided to become an architect.

In 1968 I enter in the Architectural Faculty of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with good order, eighth. In the end however... I rectify and graduate first in 1973. All the years I am scholar, because of my grades, of the Institution of Government owned Scholarships and in the graduation I am also awarded by the Technical Chamber of Greece.

In 1971 I collaborate with the architect, professor and later academic Pavlo Mylona in the imprinting of the Abbeys of mount Athos (Agion Oros). In 1972 I work in the office of the architect and then commissary of NTUA, Stefano Hatzopoulo. From 1977 until 1982 I collaborate in his office, with the architect Vasilli Grigoriadi, in a plethora of projects. This collaboration was continued casually also after this interval.

From 1977 until today, I maintain my own architectural office, participating thus in this painful process of designing and building in modern Greece.
I often participate, particularly at the first period of my career, in architectural competitions, with adequate success: In eleven attendances, eight rewards, from which three of them are a first. I also participate in committees of architectural competitions, as representative of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Architects Union.

I mainly deal with the study of residences. I have particular preference in the projects, where I know the future tenants beforehand. I enjoy discussion with them, on their way of life and their real needs and the exhaustive study and supervision of each detail, from the excavations up to the furnishing.

Some of my work has been asked and published in architectural magazines. I was also selected and participated in 1995 in the A' Biennale of new architects.

At the same time I travel very often in Greece and abroad, because I believe that travelling is a very interesting way to meet people and their architecture.

I am married and I have two sons, who are the authors of this web page.
