On this corner plot measuring 163 m2, the building code provided for 120 m2 of construction above ground and a 63 m2 basement with external dimensions 6.00 x 10.50 x 10.50 m. The owners, a couple with two small children, wanted three bedrooms, two - even rudimentary - studies, a guestroom, living-room, dining-room, kitchen and bathroom. The expense should not exceed that of a new, ready-made apartment.
A working space-guestroom with its own courtyard and entrance as well as a multipurpose area containing the auxiliary spaces of the house were placed in the semi-basement. The living-room, kitchen and dining-room occupy the ground floor, the three bedrooms with bathroom are on the first floor, and the study on the second floor.
